Love Is Not All You Need
I've noticed that a lot of people think that love is what makes a relationship work; and that if you have to work at it, or you're not happy and completely fulfilled, then it must be that the love is gone or you've lost sight of the love or some such thing. I disagree. Love is not ALL. Love is the tinder that can get the fire going, it isn't the fire itself. It is NOT a bad thing when the love "goes away"; often it isn't really gone, it's transformed into companionship and that's the basis for any good long-term relationship.

I think this is why a lot of arranged marriages DO work. They skip the romantic love part and head straight for the companionate love, which is the foundation of a stable marriage.
